Look Super in Your Cape!
In this brand new sewing project, I have decided (as the cold weather approaches) to make a warm feeling, great looking twist on a jacket.
Yes! That’s right fashion sewers.
In this sewing project, we will make a garment that we have not touched upon before. The Cape.
Interested? Well lets look a little further at the sewing pattern -
The Burda Style 7422 Cape Sewing Pattern
As you can see, there are three styles of cape. I shall be making -
Style A
The cape I will be making has a rounded edge collar with a stand, shoulder tabs which are buttoned, sleeve bands, inside seam pockets with welts, a concealed button fastening and a centre back seam.
The cape is topstitched to add a decorative finish.
The sewing pattern size is 10 – 24, therefore versatile enough for all body shapes. (It’s just a matter of whether or not you enjoying wearing a cape).
There are three styles in all with slight variations on the one that I have chosen as my next sewing project.
So what Do You Need To Take Part?

Well the first thing fashion sewers is the pattern itself.
As I’ve already mentioned, the sewing pattern is made by Burda with a pattern reference of 7422. Either visit your local fabric / pattern stores where I’m quite sure the pattern will be in stock or purchase online. Here’s a handy little link for online purchases -

NB – Please also check to ensure you have the right size of needle for your fabric choice.
