In today’s FREE article, guide and online fashion sewing video tutorial, I’d like to demonstrate for you, a quick and easy method of sewing lace edging onto sewing projects.

Whether it’s adding decorative flair, softening a garments edges, or adding femininity to a sewing project, I’ll show you how to do so in this easy to follow demonstration.

Lace edging can be purchased at most good fabric / sewing stockists or via the Internet.

Usually found on a roll, lace edging can be bought by the meter and comes in a variety of styles, (which gives the fashion sewer maximum choice) and a wide variety of widths.

There are some beautiful designs available and it is well worth investing both time and effort in building up a collection. As with other decorative fashion sewing techniques, using lace edging can add impact and an eye catching element to areas in which you choose to use it.

Lace edging is ideal for use on most finished edges or hems.

How to Apply Lace Edging

1 – Finish the edge or hem of the garment area first before using the lace edging.

2 – Pin the lace edging into position, close to the finished edge.

3 – Sew the lace into position using a small stitch length. Sew a straight or zigzag stitch dependent on your fabric and/or sewing project.

That’s right guy’s. In just three easy steps, you’ve created a beautifully finished edge to your sewing project.
