I hope that by reading this eBook if nothing else, I have managed to stir something inside of you and potentially wake those creative harbouring’s, that for years have lain ever still and dormant. Maybe I’ve motivated you enough to rush out to the shops to buy your very first ever sewing pattern or given you new impetus to awaken skills that you long since forgot. No matter which, I hope, more than anything, I’ve extracted the virtues of fashion sewing and if but one person reading this picks up a needle and thread, then I’ve done my job and helped fashion sewing grow into a new, exciting and modern age.
Making your own clothes can be more than simply following set down instructions to create an image, mirrored only on the front of a sewing pattern envelope. Fashion sewing can be a case of self-discovery, embraced by day to day living that inherently fulfils a basic human instinct to build and to create. It instils that feeling of glamour and celebrity; promoting renewed self-confidence as made to measure pieces hang elegantly from an empowered frame. Fashion sewing is not just the preserve of the older generation, sat in dusty church halls darning socks. It is a lifestyle indulgence for all.
It’s time to step out from the shadows and show off to the world. It’s what every sewing project cries out for.
