Be A Fashion Sewing Trailblazer!
So we have previously looked at colour trends for 2012 and the subtle tones that will soon fill our high street retail stores.
But!
What use it is knowing the ‘in‘ colours if you don’t know the ‘in‘ fashion trends.
‘After all, Tangerine Tango means very little if it’s sported on last years designs’.
Fear not fashion sewers! The research has been completed by Fashion Sewing Blog on your behalf. So sit back, relax and peruse this years ‘what to be seen in‘ designs.
What To Look Out For!
sewing
They say the fashion trends for spring / summer 2012 are to be mainly focused on peplums, drop waists and the style of bearing your midriff.
Alas! Sadly I’m no longer twenty years old so I’ll spare the world the sight of my midriff and waist. Now that’s not to say that I, or anybody else will have to miss out and cease from making designs that are too be in the public’s focus.
We still can!
I’ve sourced a number of sewing patterns that I feel keep with the spring / summer trend 2012, that you and I, as mere mortal women, can wear without fear nor embarrassment.
Have a look and tell me what you think!

I’m a perfectionist at almost everything. I’ve been sewing for yrs; stopped for some odd yrs. I’m sewing again, learning fashion, embellishing clothes, etc. I like making odd, unique and different clothes, etc. I remember I use to run from putting zippers in, especially the invisible ones. Being an perfectionist, the zipper has to be on point. PLEASE, I may need assistance in installing zippers, along with some other sewing techniques. I would like to start a meetup group, and also like to sell my projects, and embellish clothes for others. Need merchandising techniques.
Hi Raemelle,
It great news to hear you fashion sewing again and any if I can help you at any juncture during your project / set up of your meetup group, then please feel free to ask.
Regards
Colleen
Hi I have the simplicity 2884 pattern but I seem to have lost half of it, is there any way you can scan the top half of the pattern and the “middle part” for me? or take a picture of it or something and email it to me? I would hate to have to go buy a whole new one..anyone that can help me please email me at brittyfknbby@yahoo.com
Hi Brittany,
Do you know the exact pieces missing. Mine are already cut so would be unable to take a photo of the whole pattern.
If you know, then I may be able to scan / take a photo for you.

Colleen
I’m glad I found this site – too old to follow ‘true’ fashion, but still don’t want to look out of date – and voila! and sewing site to keep me on the right road! Can see this becoming one of my faves.
Hi Lesley
So happy to hear you found my blog.
Thank you
All the best
