The Aim of Fashion Sewers Guide to Great Sewing Projects

sewing projects

It has taken over thirty years of success, joy, pain, mistakes and frustration to get to a stage within fashion sewing when I can at last call myself competent.

”It’s a long time I think you’ll agree’!

Fashion Sewers Guide to Great Sewing Projects sets out over ten short chapters, a complete overview of the fashion sewing genre.

Don’t struggle to find the friendly advice we all sometimes need. This eBook (a fashion sewers user manual if you like) has been written to do just that – give YOU advice.

If it does nothing else but motivate you to pick up a needle and thread, then it, and I, have succeeded in doing my job.

So, how about right now, I give you a short snippet of a chapter?

‘Fashion sewing is a great lifestyle indulgence. A bold claim you may think, but I should know. I have spent most of my adult life fashion sewing and putting these skills, instilled in me by my mother, to very good use during a long (and varied) career lecturing, designing and selling. I am about as passionate as you can be about this particular subject, and made it my business (literally) to encourage and develop the beginner fashion sewer, thus keeping this once dying art form alive, kicking and invigorated.

‘So why choose to be a fashion sewer?’ I can hear my students ask; knowing full well a quick trip to the local high street will feed an insatiable appetite to dress in disposable pleasures. And yes, in reality, you can. But! Although you’ve bought a handful of t-shirts for the price of a small take away meal, so has the person stood next to you in the queue, and that therein is where the problem lies and the answer to the question revealed’.

  1. Hi! I just purchased the book, I’m looking forward to it. I have never used Adobe Digital Editions before, but I think I have it installed correctly, however I can’t seem to get the book to load into it properly — I’m getting a licensing error message. Hopefully you can help me out, thanks so much!

      Hi Sara,
I’ve downloaded Adobe Digital Editions and everything seems to be working fine. Have you downloaded the latest version? You may also want to try downloading it again as there may have been a technical glitch. Let me know how you go and if your still having problems, get back to me and I’ll see what else I can do. Thanks for the purchase, very much appreciated.

  2. Looking forward to my book purchase, as there is always room for improvement and reminders. Thanks for keeping the skills alive.
