A Lightweight Jacket Sew-Along!
There are occasions, and I’m sure we’ve all experienced them, when it’s a little too hot to wear a jacket, yet the chill says otherwise!
We need that certain piece of clothing that falls somewhere ‘in between‘.
Well fashion sewers, I’ve sourced two sewing patterns that fit the criteria and it’s now up to YOU which lightweight jacket we make in our next Fashion Sewing Blog sew-along.
As the spring / summer sun begins to set, wrap yourself up in one of these stylish jackets!
ATTENTION EVERYBODY!! – Both jackets are unlined so are very easy to make.
Ideal for any beginner fashion sewer or for a quick sew-along fix!

The Butterick B5446 jacket sewing pattern and the Butterick B5550 jacket sewing pattern.
Could you see yourself in one of these?
The Butterick B5446 Jacket – A loosely fitted, unlined jacket with a collar. The jacket is double breasted with front button closure and stitched hems. Design A has short sleeves with button and button loop feature. Design B has elbow length sleeves.
The Butterick B5550 Jacket – A semi-fitted, unlined jacket that has a two piece, raglan sleeve with notched style feature at the neckline. Design A has short sleeves with pleated lower edge. Design B has a three-quarter length sleeve with top stitched hem.

I love the 5550 jacket pattern. Simple lines, love the neck detail and I am very partial to raglan anything!! In fact I will go out and get this pattern.
